Greetings, my name is Walter Eugene Raysick Jr. However, to my close friends and family, I am known as “Gino”. My father, a retired Master Chief in the US Navy, is my namesake. I was born at the US Naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba during a tumultuous time in our history. President Kennedy was assassinated that week. Being the son of a Master Chief meant moving around as a child. Military brats quickly make friends and can adapt to just about any situation. Most of my youth was spent in the southern states of Georgia, Virginia, Florida, and North Carolina where I enjoyed hiking and camping as a Boy Scout. By the time I was in middle school, I landed in the Washington D.C. area where I finished high school and attended Montgomery College in Maryland studying Elementary Education. I was with the Barrie School and Camp of Silver Spring, MD until I grew restless and headed for the tropical island of Hawaii where I instructed martial arts. A family emergency brought me back to D.C. where I resumed my duties at the Barrie School. A good friend of mine recruited me into the Kensington Volunteer Fire Department where I served as a crew member and EMT aboard engine 18. A chance encounter at the department would introduce me to my future wife. In 2006, my wife, my dog Ranger and I packed our cars and headed to Florida to be close to my aging parents, and the beautiful weather of course – right on the heels of major hurricanes hitting the state. My insurance career started at Progressive writing personal lines insurance. I spent some time at ACG South, AAA insurance, as a CSR servicing everything. I was hooked. I really enjoy navigating the intricacies of the insurance industry while helping people save time and money. Insurance is a natural fit for me. For I’m one who makes friends quickly, adapts to changes, is cool under pressure, and is trustworthy and loyal. I hope to make your acquaintance someday. Florida is my home and I am proud to be a member of Florida Best Quoted family.
