RV Insurance in Florida

From camper vans to Class A coaches, an RV is part vehicle, part home on wheels. We shop A-rated carriers and help you compare coverage and price for the way you travel.

Florida’s year-round sunshine makes it a playground for recreational vehicles of every size, from nimble camper vans to luxury Class A coaches. An RV is part vehicle and part home on wheels, so it’s insured a little differently than a car. As an independent agency, we compare A-rated carriers and help you find RV coverage that matches your needs at a competitive price.

What RV insurance helps cover

Liability

Injuries and damage you cause to others while driving a motorized RV, plus legal defense.

Personal belongings

Coverage options for the gear and contents you carry inside.

Roadside & emergency expense

Towing for a large vehicle, plus lodging and travel costs if you’re stranded.

Total loss replacement

On eligible newer RVs, helps replace rather than depreciate after a covered total loss.

FAQ

RV Insurance in Florida: common questions

Have questions about getting insured? We’ve got answers. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, give us a call at (727) 584-9999.

  • Is RV insurance required in Florida?
A motorized RV must carry the same liability coverage Florida requires of any registered vehicle, and a lender will require physical-damage coverage on a financed RV. Towable RVs (travel trailers, fifth-wheels) aren't separately required to be insured, but their own policy covers the trailer itself and your belongings, which a tow vehicle's auto policy generally won't.
  • What does RV insurance cover?
Depending on the RV and policy, coverage can include liability, collision and comprehensive (physical damage), and RV-specific options such as total loss replacement, vacation/full-timer liability, personal belongings, roadside assistance, and emergency expense if you're stranded away from home. We help match coverage to whether you travel occasionally or live in it.
  • Are motorhomes and travel trailers insured differently?
Yes. A motorized RV (Class A, B, or C) is rated more like an auto policy with a driving component, while a towable RV (travel trailer, fifth-wheel, pop-up, or park model) is rated on its value and use without an engine or driver. We work with carriers across both types.
  • What affects my RV insurance premium?
Common factors include where the RV is stored and how many miles you drive, the RV's class, length and engine size, the driver's experience and record, and discounts such as homeownership, multi-policy, and safety features. Because insurers weigh these differently, comparing several is the most reliable way to see competitive options.
  • Can I get full-time RV coverage?
Yes. If you live in your RV full- or part-time, full-timer's coverage adds liability and personal-property protection closer to what a homeowners policy provides. Tell us how you use the RV and we'll help you find a carrier that fits.
